Our Mission

Bar Harbor Brass Week seeks to provide talented young musicians with an excellent performing and learning experience and to enrich the cultural life of the Bar Harbor area.  Brass Week will utilize a nationally known faculty to attract and instruct a small and select group of pre-professional, college and high school musicians from around the world as well as locally.  Bar Harbor Brass Week seeks to bring some of the world's best young musicians to Bar Harbor, Maine, each summer to experience great music-making and to enjoy the beauty and inspiration of Mount Desert Island.  In turn, this program and its participants will enrich the lives of local students and the community at large.

How to Contribute

If you would like to offer fully tax-deductible financial assistance to our program, you can make contributions through the Mark Woolman Horner Music Education Fund.  Checks can be made payable to
